CommentsI see your ceiling fan and you have wood beam ceilings!
I like these kinds of pictures. How do you do it? It's so cool to look at... -- Now, Harry you must know all about Muggles, tell me, what exactly is the function of a rubber duck? The old camera's on a very tiny pocket tripod, and my D100's on my Gitzo. I leaned my bass against the piano, and pointed the old camera at it. It's not photoshopped; that's what the viewfinder on a twin lens really looks like. The colder light on the right is from a window, and the warmer light on the left is from the lights that are reflected on the viewfinder. Other than that I exposed for the highlights, then brightened it a ton, and cropped it to a square to mimic the shape of negatives that that old camera takes. I set the white balance in-between the two color temperatures (the window and the overhead incandescents) to make both stand out and create a strong warm/cool contrast.
Okay I think this is going to have to be one of those "in-person" lessons.
